The Small Town Poker Tour announced that it will showcase the tour at the NATPE Convention to be held at the Mandaly Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. The tour's management hopes the showcase will help increase its exposure.
The small Town Poker Tour is a charity tournament, which plans to travel relatively less typical locations in each of the U.S.'s 50 states to seek out America's top amateur poker player. Tour locations are selected with help from the public; anyone can vote for the tournament's locations at the tour's website.
The Small Town Poker Tour is also unique because it is the first poker tour the travel the entire country for charity. Players themselves choose the local charity they'd like to get the money and the top three players' in each tour stop get their charities of choice paid. A European version of the tour is also slated to take off in the spring.
The tour sees its small town focus as taking poker back to its roots by bringing it back to the small towns. Over the next couple of months, the Small Town Poker Tour will make its way across the east coast end before crossing over to the Midwest in late spring.
