The event will take advantage of worldwide poker craze so that the less fortunate, the children affected by Asia's largest natural disaster, can benefit from the funds. The largest fund raising poker event will be held online using Pokerbook's proprietary tournament software.
The majority of the funds raised will be donated to children of India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. The number of deaths continues to increase and numerous children are now orphans. The funds to be donated will assist with food and medical supplies as well as with clothing and shelter. The purpose is to help these victims during these hard days especially now as some take advantage of the chaos to traffic children and to commit other crimes.
The organizers of The World Poker Charity Tour will be selecting charity organizations that will deliver the support directly to these children. There are many worthy organizations such as Save the Children, American Red Cross and UNICEF among others.
In order to ensure the overall success of the fund raising poker that will be held in March 2005, whoever is willing to assist will be welcomed. The organizers are looking for sponsors, celebrities, companies who are willing to help with promoting the event and what is more important, donations and participation of generous donors from around the world.
