The 20th century's perhaps most famous – and infamous – outlaw poker pro is making his way to the silver screen. Academy Award-winning director Milos Forman will allegedly embark on directing a cinematic adaptation of the memoirs of Amarillo Slim Preston, known by some as "the greatest poker player ever." Although yet to be set in contractual stone, rumor is circulating that Nicolas Cage has plans to star in and produce the upcoming poker flick.
The film is in its first stages of development, with screenwriters Stephen Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson, who have experience writing for previous bio-pics, are set to adapt Amarillo Slim's memoir, the uniquely titled, "Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People: The Memoirs of the Greatest Gambler Who Ever Lived."
