Online Poker site "The World Poker Exchange" announced its plans to host The London Open, an offline poker tournament. Other companies partnering with the tournament include FHM UK and the Bravo Network. The tournament is slated to take place in early August at the Old Billingsgate Market, a nineteenth century landmark located on the River Thames.
The London Open is more than just a competition, however, with exclusive events taking place on a nightly basis. It also promises to attract a famous face or two, including poker pros from around the globe.
The competition itself will be aired on Flextech’s Bravo and freeview channel Ftn as a prime-time television special, including footage of the ten players sent to the tournament by FHM. Total prize pool for the London Open is a whopping $2 million.
