Exhibitor Show 2005 took advantage of the popularity of poker to raise money for a non-profit organization close to the trade show industry. The First Annual Exhibitor Show Charity Poker Championship took place on March 12, in conjunction with Exhibitor Show 2005 hosted at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
Altogether, more than $10,000 was raised via the $1,000 buy-in Texas Hold'em tournament, which went to the Exhibit Designers & Producers Association Foundation (EDPAF). The EDPAF is a nonprofit organization that imparts both educational and financial aid to members of the trade show industry.
The poker championship was such a success that interest in next year's tournament has already been piqued. Participants in this year's Annual EDPA Conference will get the chance to see video highlights from the Exhibitor Show Charity Poker Championship.
