Online gaming site GamesGrid, best known for backgammon, has created a new real-money site devoted to poker. GamesGrid Poker's free download software is available for both free and real-money play. Players not wanting to risk any of their own money can also play free tournaments. The site boasts both free-chip tournaments, in which real money is neither wagered nor won, and freerolls, which give players the chance to win money without putting any down.
To celebrate its launch, GamesGrid Poker is sponsoring a number of promotions, including a 1,000 percent match bonus on first deposits, Very Frequent Players benefits, as well as rewards for referring new players. Through the 1000 percent match bonus, players can earn up to $5000 on a $500 first deposit, which is the maximum the online poker room is willing to shell out per deposit. The Very Frequent Player campaign awards users playing at least ten hours a week with three big blinds of whatever Hold 'Em or Omaha game they play per hour. Lastly, the Refer-a-Friend deal awards players 25 percent of the rake accumulated by friends they referred to the site.
