Approximately 30 police officers raided an allegedly illegal poker tournament in the Australian city of Adelaide on Wednesday. Police entered the club and questioned approximately 100 of the tournament participants. Police are currently writing up reports to send to the prosecution authorities, who will decide whether or not to prosecute in this case. Potential offenses include, but are not limited to, occupying a common gaming house and participating in an illegal game.
In addition to reporting tournament participants, police also confiscated cash, poker chips and other poker supplies.
Tournament organizers had allegedly advertised the poker event openly, through flyers and the internet. Police also said that this was not the first time that the organizers of this poker tournament were warned regarding illegal gambling.
