Celebrity poker has become the latest thing in the world of poker, with tournaments both online and off scrounging to build their rosters of affiliated, often c-list, celebrities. Poker has even conquered Hollywood, poker tournaments being the new fad in star social gatherings. Some celebrities, including Tobey Maguire and Ben Affleck, have even made names for themselves on the tournament circuit, appearing regularly at major tournaments. But actress Jennifer Tilly surprised them all when she conquered 600 other players to emerge with her first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet.
Event number 26, the Ladies Event No-limit Hold'em, indeed crowned Tilly as champion and made the actress $158,625 richer. Tilly, known for her roles in "quality" flicks such as 'Bride of Chucky', and 'Seed of Chucky,' showed that although perhaps not Oscar caliber in her main profession, she is champion material around the poker table. It likely didn't hurt that her boyfriend is pro poker player Phil 'Unabomber' Laak. Has Tilly been getting a few privileged pointers from the beau, or is she just a natural?
