Pucks, Putters and Poker, a sort of triathlon of seemingly random recreational activities to be held Foxwoods Resort Casino for a week in Late July, recently signed Phil Gordon as the event's official poker host. The event, as the name lets on, combines hockey, golf and poker with the hopes of raising money for a number of charities.
As part of his partnership with Pucks, Putters and Poker, Gordon will first and foremost host the poker tournament segment of the event, which will give away a total of $70,000 in prize money and a seat at this year's World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Finals. In addition, Gordon will also host an hour-long poker tutorial session for participants.
Charities slated to benefit from the event include the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the Carson Kolzig Foundation, the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation and the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation.
