The Small Town Poker Tour recently announced that the tour would soon make its debut on TV. The Small Town Poker Tour will travel the back roads of all 50 of the United States, in search of the country's best amateur poker player. AMT Media LLC, parent company of the Small Town Poker Tour, has partnered with production company Make it Happen Productions to create the televised version of the tournament.
In response to the partnership, Mark Fracalossi, CEO of AMT Media, commented that "Make it Happen Productions has the staff, experience and creativity to bring this show to reality."
According to a Make it Happen executive, the show has a major sponsorship in the works, to be announced shortly. All money raised by the tour will be given to charity. Instead of going the route of the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour, with their flashy production values, the televised Small Town Poker Tour will capitalize on its small town flavor. Aside from the tournament's finals, which will take place in a casino, the rest of the competition will basically comprise a tour of the United States.
