Daily Mail Media Editor Matt Born reportedly forfeited his chance at winning the Palm Beach CelebPoker Classic Tournament in order to spend quality time with his family. Born won £1,000 ($1,767) and landed the privilege of entering the CelebPoker classic through the "Media 25 Hundred" tournament, which took place in June. Media 25 Hundred pitted some of the top UK media personalities against one another to compete for the title of best poker player in print.
The Palm Beach CelebPoker Classic Tournament is slated for this weekend at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair. As his family is scheduled to return from a trip abroad on the day that the tournament kicks off, Born reneged on the poker opportunity, in favor of welcoming his family home. In his stead, The Observer Music Critic Anthony Holden and PokerEuropa editor Phil Shaw will compete in the CelebPoker Classic.
