According to a company press release, WPT Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE), the company behind the popular televised World Poker Tour program and the licensing of its brand name, has informed the SEC of its intention to delay submitting Form 10-Q for their second quarter results. Accordingly, WPTE has five additional days before which they must file the results. As long as the WPTE submits the Form 10-Q within five days of August 17, the date originally intended, it will still fulfill the SEC's standards for punctual reporting.
The WPTE was forced to delay filing its financial results for Q2 following Deloitte & Touche, LLP's resignation as the company's independent registered public accounting firm in late June. As Deloitte is no longer handling the company's finances, the WPTE has enlisted Piercy Bowler Taylor & Kern to review financial statements to be included in the Form 10-Q.
