Media darling ever since its multi-billion dollar June float, online poker company Party Gaming is making headlines again with a new marketing initiative. Party Gaming is going after online poker-playing golfers in a new joint marketing program it has launched with GPS Industries, Inc., a company specializing in multimedia communications and management solutions for golfing venues. The marketing initiative will allow Party Poker, a unit of Party Gaming, to advertise an online poker tournament to golfers who play at golf facilities using GPS Industries products.
The companies will initially launch the initiative for a 45-day trial run involving 15 golf courses equipped with GPS Industries products. As part of the campaign, ball markers, golf tees and a deposit bonus at Party Poker will be offered to golfers at participating venues, as incentive to register with Party Poker. Golfers deciding to enter the online poker tournament will vie for the $10,000 top prize and other prize denominations.
If deemed successful after the the trial period, the online poker marketing initiative will be brought to GPS-powered golf courses all over the world.
