Australia-based gaming supplier Shuffle Master filed a lawsuit against Gaming Entertainment Inc. The suit also specifically names Ya Ya Awada, Gaming Entertainment’s president. Shuffle Master claims that Gaming Entertainment’s Play Four Poker game infringes upon Shuffle Master’s intellectual property, specifically noting that the game is a copy of Shuffle Master’s Four Card Poker.
In the lawsuit, Shuffle Master asks that Gaming Entertainment be prevented from selling, licensing, or operating Play Four Poker, and Shuffle Master is demanding monetary damages, although no specific dollar amount has been set. Gaming Entertainment President Ya Ya Awada has reportedly confirmed that he has been served with a lawsuit, but his public statement implied that the lawsuit was more of an attempt to eliminate competition than a valid complaint about the specific poker game.
