Game publisher Myelin Media recently released new screenshots of "STACKED(TM) with Daniel Negreanu," its soon-to-be-released Texas hold'em video game. The new screenshots feature Negreanu and the six other poker pros starring in the game, and give a glimpse of the game's MTV-themed atmosphere. Besides Negreanu himself, pros lending their faces to the game include Evelyn Ng, David WiIlliams, Josh Arieh, Jennifer Harman, Erick Lindgren, and Carlos Mortensen.
Stacked brings over ten years of research to the table, with its trademarked "Poki" artificial intelligence technology. The latest findings in game theory, machine learning and neural networks have been employed to lend Stacked a realistic computerized opponent, or shall we say opponents? Poki features multiple poker bots, each with its own mode of play and strategic style, and which all adapt their playing styles according to that of the human player (that would be you). As the player's skill advances, so does that of the competition, ultimately pitting the player against the bots modeled after the game's featured pros, including Negreanu himself.
Although Stacked's advanced AI technology may be impressive, nothing beats playing against a living, breathing opponent. Thankfully, Stacked also offers multi-player tournaments, with the capacity to support even thousands of players. In Stacked's Masters Tournaments, players will even get the chance to play against the pros themselves. Any time the computerized character of one of the pros appears at the table in a Masters Tournament, players are up against the real thing.
Stacked (TM) with Daniel Negreanu will be on the shelves October 25 for PC, PS2 and Xbox. Players on the PSP console will have to wait until November.
