Barry Shulman, publisher of Card Player Magazine, a long-time staple among poker industry publications, recently reported that interest in the magazine is at an all time high. More than just boasting a circulation of over half a million copies, Card Player is reported to be attracting a lot of attention from investors, as well.
A number of these investors come straight from the world of pro poker. Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Todd Brunson, Jennifer Harman, and Thomas Keller have all acquired stakes in the poker magazine. Celebrity poker players, including ¨That 70ś Show¨ś Laura Prepon, Danny Masterson, and Chris Masterson, have reportedly also become Card Player Media, LLC shareholders.
