The 3G Expo in Denver, Colorado, will showcase gears, gadgets and games, among them, Texas hold'em. The organizers of 3G have added a poker tournament to the schedule, and are aiming to make it the biggest one-day charity poker tournament to ever be held. The 12,000 players whom event organizers hope to attract would warrant entrance into the Guinness Book of World Records.
"Hold'em for Hope" is scheduled for Nov. 12 at the Colorado Convention Center, and will benefit local charity Sean's Hope, an organization that works towards combating pediatric cancer. Last year, a separate tournament was planned for Sean's Hope, but never came to be after organizers were informed that such a tournament violated state laws. To avoid any potential legal problems, 3G will not hand out actual prizes.
