Spike TV, self-labeled "the first network for men," is going a step further than poker TV with its King of Vegas tournament series. Contenders in the show will have to prove their skills in a wide range of casino games, not just poker. The casino "decathlon" will feature casino games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, and more.
The weekly casino series will first air in the beginning of 2006. In each of the show's ten episodes, players will be challenged on a number of games. The tournament will end off in a final tournament, where contestants will play for the $1 million prize, and the title of "King of Vegas."
Qualifying competitions are about to kick off in Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Los Angeles. The qualifying stage will entail a written gambling exam and/or a live demonstration of gambling abilities in a variety of casino games. Interested parties over the age of 21 can find more information and apply to be a contestant via the Spike TV Website, http://www.spiketv.com.
