From November 17th-19th, HBO and AEG Live will be sponsoring The Comedy Festival, a three-day celebration of "everything comedy" at Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas. In addition to the over 50 sketch and stand-up shows scheduled over the weekend, the PURE Nightclub at Caesars will play host to the Comedy Cares First Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament on November 18th. The Comedy Festival has lined up television stars like comedians Ray Romano and Bill Maher, as well as Lorraine Bracco and Dominic Chianese of "The Sopranos" to play in the charity poker tournament, all proceeds of which will be donated to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
To further raise money for the worthy cause, The Comedy Festival has teamed up with Ticketmaster to auction off a seat in the celebrity tournament to one lucky bidder. Poker fans, comedy fans, or anyone who just wants to hobnob with the stars can bid for the tournament seat online at http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/21114. Bids will be accepted on the website until 3 p.m. (Pacific Time), November 14th with the winning bidder receiving special event admission along with a guest.
The seat doesn't come cheap, as bids start at $10,000 with $100 increments, but if the bidder ends up winning the tournament, he or she will receive first class airfare for two to Acapulco for a five night stay, making the buy-in fee a bit more worthwhile.
