People who read Woman Poker Player magazine and participate in its website's online poker forums will be treated to a special $1,000 freeroll tournament. The tournament will take place on November 25th at the Titan Poker website.
The magazine, which prides itself on being the only poker publication exclusively aimed at the ladies market, debuted in April and has already seen its initial circulation grow twofold. Its success can be attributed to the growing popularity of poker among women both in land-based games and online, where experts estimate the number of female players as anywhere from 20%-35% of the total player pool.
In order to participate in the freeroll tournament, a player must be enrolled and actively participating in the Women Poker Player magazine online forums, having posted at least two "worthwhile" messages at www.womanpokerplayer.com/forums, before Novermber 24th. Women Poker Player publisher Maryann Morrison hopes to sponsor many such online freeroll events in the future as a way of thanking her readers and giving them a chance to hone their poker skills.
