Phil Ivey, 29, has made Black Enterprise's Hot List of America's Most Powerful Players Under 40 in the upcoming December issue. The Hot List, issued annually, lists extraordinary African Americans who, through their accomplishments in the fields of business, entertainment, media, sports, etc., have helped produce billions of dollars in revenue.
Ivey, a professional poker player with more than a decade of experience belying his youth, joins this year's select list that includes such notable celebrities as Tiger Woods, Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, Will Smith, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, P. Diddy, and Kayne West, among a multitude of achievers.
Best known for his aggressive poker play and nerves of steel that complement his intense focus on the game, Phil Ivey has earned superstar status in the poker world. He shot to fame in 2000 when, at the tender age of 23, he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet. Four World Series bracelets later, Ivey's fame is sure to spread even further with his mention on the Hot List.
Full profiles will accompany all of the personalities on the 2005 Hot List, which will be available when Black Enterprise magazine hits newsstands on November 22nd. Since 1970, the magazine has billed itself as the one of the leading business and investment resources for African Americans, and now has a monthly readership of 3.8 million people.
