The biggest poker tournament in Canadian history is scheduled to begin tomorrow in Richmond, British Columbia, at the River Rock Casino. Not limited to Canadian nationals, up to 1,500 poker players from all over North America will gather to pit their skills against one another in three different Texas Hold 'em disciplines, pot limit, limit, and no-limit, with a maximum of 500 players per tournament.
The buy-ins for the British Columbia Poker Championships range from $1,000 to $2,500. First place winners can pick up a hefty check ranging anywhere from $150K-$375K, depending on the number of entrants in each of the poker tournaments. The top 10% of registered players in each poker tournament will finish in the money. Play will extend from tomorrow until Sunday, when prizes will be dispersed upon the completion of the final table of the no-limit event.
For more detailed information about entry fees, registration specifics, or prize distribution, you can contact the River Rock Casino at 1-604-247-8983 or visit www.riverrock.com.
