When people sit around a table playing poker, many times they'll have the urge to strike up conversations with fellow players and make new friends. Until now, online poker players have only had the option of chatting with one another, and rather anonymously at that. Seeing a niche to be filled, World Poker Tour Enterprises (WPTE) has entered into and agreement with Chipleaders to provide poker players with tailor-made social networking technology.
The interactive online community to be established will be free to poker enthusiasts all over the world, and will be made accessible through the WPT website, worldpokertour.com. The new social networking opportunities afforded by Chipleaders technology will allow users to create profiles, participate in forums, share poker experiences, and even share photos with one another.
As the number of poker players is growing daily, both companies are investing in the opportunity to offer people a more tight-knit, communal feeling when playing poker online. These sentiments are echoed by Steve Lipscomb, CEO and founder of WPTE, who expressed pride in being able to offer poker players "a dedicated online community which they can call their own."
Chipleaders CEO, Jake Steele, was very excited to enter into a partnership with WPTE, stating that "combining the leading online poker community with the world's best known poker brand is absolutely amazing, and we look forward to engaging the WPT fans, audience and online players, as we develop and foster this remarkable social network devoted to poker."
