Do you find that poker seems to be spreading everywhere? Well, starting this Monday, there's a good chance you'll find poker content in your local paper too. Copley News Service, a news syndicate, has announced that it plans to begin syndication of a weekly poker column. Copley, with more than 1,500 newspaper clients ranging from community weeklies to major national dailies, joins Tribune Information Services, United Media, Card Shark Media, King Feature Syndicate, and The New York Times Syndicate as yet another distributor of poker content to the printed media.
Along with Sudoku puzzles, poker columns are the fastest-spreading content category in syndication. While some of the columns are written by poker pros such as Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu, others are penned by writers who have long covered the poker beat, such as Steve Rosenbloom, Chuck Blount, and James McManus.
Copley's first syndicated poker column will be written by one of today's top pros, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. In a nod to Poker Pro Magazine, where each column will first appear, the syndicated column will be called "Poker Pro's Corner." The audience targeted in the news pieces will be poker newbies and intermediate-level players.
