Empire Online surprised investors today when it announced startlingly positive fourth quarter results for the 2005 fiscal year. After Party Gaming separated its main online poker platform and player base from Empire Poker and other white label poker sites in early October, Many thought Empire's ship had sunk.
Despite all odds, Empire online reported significant growth in the number of new players signing up at its online poker and casino sites. Although this increase was largely the result of strong performance by Empire Online's newer acquisitions and ventures, as the veteran Empire Poker had less to do with it, the overall picture was one of continued growth and economic promise.
Noam Lanir, CEO of Empire Online stated his delight as to the company's fourth quarter performance, attributing it to" the performance of our new platforms, which demonstrate the strength of our marketing skills and builds on strategic acquisitions we made in Q3 2005. It is too early to tell how full year results at Empire Poker will turn out, but the company has built a solid, fast growing business, that will deliver strong and sustainable growth in the future."
