WPT Enterprises and the Travel Channel have released a joint statement declaring an "amicable" end to the lawsuit between them. The companies can now pair up again, bringing television viewers the long-awaited premiere of the Professional Poker Tour (PPT). The PPT, as opposed to the much-watched World Poker Tour (WPT), brings together 200 top poker players by invitation only, to battle it out around the poker table.
At the conclusion of the fourth WPT season, the Travel Channel will begin airing the Professional Poker Tour on Wednesday nights. Adding the PPT series to its programming schedule means that the Travel Channel's 2006-2007 line up will be quite "poker heavy," featuring no less than 44 weeks of poker shows between the PPT and the fifth season of the WPT.
