PokerStars.com has announced that, every Sunday, it will be hosting a $215 buy-in poker tournament with a guaranteed total purse of $1 million. Whereas the online poker site used to host $1 million guaranteed tournaments just once a month, its management decided to increase the frequency to once a week, due to the ever-increasing number of poker enthusiasts playing on the site.
One statistic that exemplifies Poker Stars' recent success is the just-released data indicating that it had reached a new milestone, having hosted 100,000 users playing poker simultaneously. With over 5,000 online poker players regularly taking part in the monthly $1 million guaranteed tournaments, it seems fitting that Poker Stars offer them more often. For those online poker players who don't find it so easy to cough up $215, satellite tournaments are also available.
