Betfair is giving a boost to female poker players around the world. The online poker site will be hosting "Ladies Night" women-only freeroll tournaments each Tuesday this month with a total prize pool of £500 (about $872) per event. Over the course of the four freeroll poker tournaments, 30 lucky ladies will also win seats at a live final multi-table event. The woman who emerges the victor in the live poker tournament will get a chance to play against the best female poker players in the world at the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) ladies event in Las Vegas.
An added feature of the online poker tournaments that is sure to grab the attention of any red-blooded woman is Betfair's "Ultimate Night In" prize package. Each lady who registers to take part in the freeroll tournaments will be entered into a random drawing in which Betfair will award winners a "home poker evening" complete with a handsome dealer. In addition to the cards, chips, and wine Betfair will provide for the winner and nine of her friends, a chippendale caliber male will teach them all how to "grind it out" at the felt, so to speak.
