A couple months ago, OPN reported about the revolutionary automated PokerPro poker tables created by PokerTek. Their poker table eliminates the need for both poker chips and a dealer. Essentially, all monetary transactions are handled electronically by an embedded computer program located inside the table. The PokerPro table benefits players and card rooms, as there's no longer a dealer to have to tip, and as the speed of poker play is usually increased, meaning an increased rake for the house. Up until now, the PokerPro tables were only available in the United States and parts of Canada. That is about to change.
PokerTek has just announced that is has agreed for Aristocrat Leisure Limited to distribute its tables worldwide. The Australian gaming supply company has been in the business for over 50 years. It will now have exclusive rights to ship the automated PokerPro tables anywhere in the world except for the United States and some parts of Canada, the regions covered by PokerTek's own distribution department.
