After months of waiting with bated breath, the poker world can now descend on the Venetian's new poker room, which yesterday began entertaining the public. The Venetian's new poker room is now the biggest of its kind in Las Vegas, and the establishment offered poker players and other scenesters a party that was fittingly decadent. The celebrations kicked off with a pre-party at the casino's trés trendy Tao Nightclub.
Following the warm-up at Tao, an invitation-only celebrity poker tournament, the real highlight of the evening, got started after opening remarks were given over by Robin Leach. The grand prize for the poker winner was a very sexy Lotus Elise, which was parked, waiting for its new owner, just outside the poker room.
The stars were out last night at the Venetian poker room's grand opening celebration, which drew a smattering of celebrities from both the world of poker and Hollywood. Pretty much every major poker player was in attendance, including Todd and Doyle Brunson, Annie Duke, Johnny Chan, Layne Flack, Amir Vahedi, Sammy Farha, and Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, and more.
The Venetian has decked out its new 10,500 sq. ft. poker room with leather and rick wood accents and low-hanging chandeliers. Players at the room's 39 tables will benefit from top-notch technology and table-side dining options.
