The newly-opened Venetian poker room will host a series of heads-up poker matches this coming weekend between up-and-coming pro poker players Liz Lieu and Erik Sagstrom. For three nights in a row, Lieu, known as "The Poker Diva" and Sagstrom, an emerging poker star famous mainly for his online successes, will duke it out in a set of games, tagged Beauty vs. the Beast. In all, they will play three $200,000 heads up matches. Fans are invited to come by and catch a glimpse of the poker action between the two young poker players.
Lieu initially earned fame on the West coast $400/$800 cash games scene, where she is known to pose hefty, aggressive competition. In addition, she has cashed in a number of tournament in the year or so that she has been competing in poker tournaments. Sagstrom is a 23-year-old Swede who first came upon online poker at age 17, ultimately opting to make a full-time career out of his online poker hobby. He's since cashed in a number of major land-based poker tournaments as well. Liz And Erik can be seen at the Venetian poker room on May 5-7.
