Anurag Dikshit and Vikrant Bhargava, two co-founders of the U.K. online poker website PartyGaming.com, recently decided to quit the gaming company's board. Bhargava, who is currently serving as the company's marketing director, will leave ParyGaming at the end of 2006. Dikshit, the company's operations director, will step down from the board in order to focus on the development of new projects.
According to PartyGaming's spokesperson, management changes should not alarm the company's group of investors. PartyGaming, which is now U.K.'s largest online poker gambling site, had floated on the market in July last year and was a hit with investors. At the time, Bhargava and Dikshit reportedly sold a combined £555 million worth of shares.
Some poker industry insiders have reportedly raised speculation that the departure of the two durectors was somehow triggered by the recently appointed chief executive, Mitch Garber, who is trying to professionalize the company's management team. Nevertheless, PartyGaming's spokesman denied any boardroom dispute and was reported as saying that the decision to quit had been taken entirely by Dikshit and Bhargava themselves.
