It was recently reported that the Collin County Grand Jury in Texas indicted a group of five individuals involved in the operation of a McKinney underground poker room discovered by authorities in the beginning of 2006. According to police, the room was a for-profit facility since its operators made money off every jackpot won.
McKinney Police Captain John Duscio was reported as saying that undercover officers had been invited to participate in a poker tournament at the aforementioned poker room, and that during the course of the evening they discovered that the room was used for poker games with the house collecting a 10% cut on every poker table.
Collin County court records showed that the poker room's operators faced serious criminal charges. Janet Lynn Cerutti, Terence Joel Cerutti and Johnny Ray Lindsey were indicted of two felony counts of engaging in organized criminal activity and one felony count of money laundering, while Robert Jefferson Slagle and Thomas Carter Eubanks were indicted of two felony counts of engaging in organized criminal activity.
