The first government sanctioned nationally-televised poker competition in China-Traktor Poker hit the airways of Nanjing Entertainment Television earlier this month.
Traktor Poker is a World Poker Tour and is the parent company of the highly successful American WPT which has a 10 year agreement with the China Leisure Sports Administrative Centre CLSAC to market poker in China.
Tractor poker is played using two card decks with jokers. It's a team competition where points are accrued for the cards contained in each ''trick'' won by teams. Trump suits also mix the game up.
The first season was a total of nine programming hours that will be aired. The tournament series is in high gear for its second season. The venture is to expand variations of the traditional Texas Hold'em poker markets.
