Unusual poker objects for collectors (OPN Staff)
Poker has become the most popular game of the year, there are tournaments everywhere. The origins of the game are quite controversial. Some say it evolved from a Chinese game played around A.D 900, others say it originated from the 18th century Poque which was played by French settlers in New Orleans.
During the nineteen century the poker was a game played on Mississippi riverboats. Soon there were poker tables in most Western towns.
Many people collect poker chips. In modern casinos the chips are designed with logos and with important events or people. The early chips were made of wood or plastic and clay but today they are made of plastic only. People also collect cards, rule books, tables even table covers, each has a special value, and the value rises if any of these objects is associated with an important person or casino.
