Although poker was once considered to be a game of cheats commonly played in the West and on Mississippi riverboats, nowadays everybody plays it. People everywhere have come to love the game.
Many poker connoisseurs assume that the popularity of the game is due to online casino games. In addition, televised poker shows that feature celebrities attract even those who didn’t previously play poker on a regular basis. Due to the massive media coverage surrounding poker, more people have come to love the game.
In televised poker programming, celebrities compete against each other over prizes which are later donated to charity. Many believe that although the initial attraction to these shows is the celebrity factor, many people ultimately get hooked to the game as well.
Basically it is a game that pretty much everybody can play since it is based both on skill and luck. It has been said more than once, however, that though the game is easy to learn, it is hard to master.
