World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2006
This page contains information about all the upcoming events to take place in the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP).The schedule looks almost identical to last year's version. The main event final table, like last years will be played down to the final table in the summer, and a champion crowned early November.
Highlights include the ''stimulus special'' $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament on the opening weekend, which is anticipated to draw the largest-ever live tournament field outside the Main Event offering a prize pool approaching $5,000,000.
2009 WSOP also has ten ''World Championship'' $10,000 buy-in events (in each of the various disciplines of poker)
WSOP champions of the past include Peter Eastgate, Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold, Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer, Chris Moneymaker, and Chris ''Jesus'' Ferguson, as well as 10-time bracelet winners Doyle Brunson and Johnny chan.

The tournament begins on May 27 with play ceasing during the Main Event on July 14. The final table will resume on November 7.
